Associate Dean of Innovation and Impact for CBS
CBS is seeking an Associate Dean of Innovation and Impact to advance efforts to strengthen CBS’ societal impact and position in the innovation landscape. The Vice Dean is to lead the Copenhagen School of Entrepreneurship.
CBS’ strategic ambition
The CBS is the university of business. The CBS strategy “We transform society with business” distinguishes us as an important partner for business and society and we are committed to offering solutions to the major societal challenges we face.
Being transformative means making meaningful, positive and lasting impact. CBS delivers high-quality international research with transformative potential for business and society, and we continually work to improve the societal impact of research. At the same time, it is a strategic goal to increase the impact of CBS through student and researcher innovation and entrepreneurship efforts.
As Vice Dean of Innovation and Impact, you will lead significant parts of the overarching Global Impact strategic initiative, working closely with the CBS Dean of Research and key internal and external stakeholders to strengthen CBS’ societal impact and position in the innovation landscape.
You run the Copenhagen School of Entrepreneurship (CSE), an entrepreneurship center with programs on incubation, acceleration, management development, case competitions and entrepreneurship training. These programs create more than 200 new companies annually and attract several externally funded projects. A key task would therefore be to bring research closer to CSE in order to increase the value that CBS creates through innovation and entrepreneurship and to cultivate the potential through greater integration between CBS research and the practical experiences of CSE.
Another key element of this position is the advancement of research impact efforts internally at CBS, including shaping a common understanding of research impact across all research environments and strengthening organizational competencies, support and incentive structures in this area. Finally, another focus of this position will be outward-facing stakeholder nurturing of CBS and expanding CBS’s involvement in networks of national and international agendas in the areas of impact, innovation and entrepreneurship.
Located in Frederiksberg, Denmark, the school has approximately 21,000 full and part-time students, 760 full-time faculty members, 210 PhD students and 680 administrative staff, and a full portfolio of Bachelor’s, Master’s, MBA/EMBA, PhD and Executive Programs offered in English and Danish.
