New programs are creating an accessible path to degrees in mathematics and statistics
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. and LONDON, September 22, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), a member institution of the University of Londonand edX, the global online learning platform of 2U, Inc. (Nasdaq: TWOU), today announced the launch of the LSE’s first two MicroBachelors® programs in Basics of Statistics and Mathematics and statistics basics as well as An introduction to pre-university mathematics, his first Massive Open Online Course. LSE is the first university to expand its degree partnership with 2U to launch a suite of edX micro-credentials that offer learners a flexible, stackable path to a full online undergraduate education. MicroBachelors® programs provide immediately transferrable skills while providing a path to a full bachelor’s degree. Each of LSE’s new MicroBachelors® programs includes four university-level courses from leading LSE faculty. Apprentices who successfully complete an LSE MicroBachelor® program and are included in the selection Online Bachelor Degrees from the University of Londonwith academic guidance from the LSE, are eligible to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), thereby providing an accessible pathway to the degree.
That Introduction to pre-university mathematics MOOC, which is free to test, will expand access to undergraduate math education worldwide. It will also provide the skills needed to succeed in university-level courses, including the LSE’s new MicroBachelors® programs.
