But, when it came to the level of confidence in using computers, female students led the way with 65% compared to 58% of males.

Announcing the results of the survey at a media conference in Bengaluru on November 2, Quest Alliance director (schools) Neha Parti said the research clearly showed improvement in 21st century skills and scientific temperament among students in rural areas. The need has been highlighted.

A STEM education initiative will be launched.

To promote STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education, Kantar, a leading global visionary firm, and IBM, a global technology firm, have teamed up with 40,000 high school students in nine districts of Karnataka—Mysore, Tamakuru, Will start a program among students. “This program will provide students with experiential learning through a ‘learning by doing’ approach. This means that these 40,000 high school students will no longer need to memorize complex scientific concepts from textbooks. Through this program, students will get an opportunity to tinker and develop tech-based solutions to the problems they identify,” added Ms. Neha.

They reported that 71 percent of boys said they were naturally better than girls at math and science, and 19 percent of girls agreed. He said that the findings reinforced gender stereotypes and hence it was important to emphasize gender awareness modules.
