Sidus Space awarded Bechtel's cable assembly contract for Mobile Launcher 2

Sidus Space, Inc. (NASDAQ:SIDU), a Space-as-a-Service company focused on manufacturing mission-critical hardware combined with the design, manufacture, launch and data collection of commercial satellites, was selected today by Bechtel Corporation to manufacture cables for the project NASA Mobile Launcher 2.

Sidus was previously awarded a contract to manufacture custom cables and populate unique electronics cabinets that support the launch control subsystem and special ground power subsystems.

Mobile Launcher 2 (ML2) is the ground platform structure that will launch the Space Launch System (SLS) Block 1B and Block 2 configurations to the Moon, enabling the agency to send astronauts and heavy cargo to the lunar surface as part of the Artemis program from NASA. ML2 is the main interface between the ground launch control system and the SLS rocket and the flight hardware of the Orion spacecraft.

“Our extensive experience in space and defense hardware manufacturing is an important component of our end-to-end space-as-a-service offering, which has proven to be a stable and growing revenue stream for us as we develop and commercialize new offerings .” said Carol Craig, founder and CEO of Sidus Space. “Bechtel’s continued work on this important project helps demonstrate the consistent quality of our production.”
