PUBG MOBILE: Paving the way

With the digital revolution sweeping the nation, it is evident that Pakistan has no dearth of talent. Growing rapidly in the coming years, eSports has become a popular medium for people of all ages. In recent years, PUBGM has made a huge impact on the eSports industry, encouraging a number of dedicated athletes to succeed.

Due to its high revenue potential, eSports has become one of the most lucrative industries on the planet. This is especially true in the APAC region, where PUBGM has played an important role in establishing the Pakistani sports community. In today’s digital age, where 39% of the world’s population are gamers, eSports has emerged as one of the most socially interactive sports.

As reported by Statista, there are about 30 million gamers in Pakistan, which is 16% of the population. By 2026, they are expected to reach 50.9 million. A leader in the eSports landscape, PUBGMwho recently won the Esports Mobile Game of the Year Award at the 2022 Esports Awards in Las Vegas, believes physical sports and eSports are inextricably linked. Apart from being the number one online gaming platform in Pakistan, PUBGM has also been actively supporting physical sports in addition to supporting eSports in the country.

True to its beliefs, PUBGM has become the official eSports partner of cricket, the country’s most loved game. PUBGM launched a campaign to support Pakistan Cricket team with the tagline #ShabaPakistan a phrase often used by cricketers to compliment each other’s performance. As part of Pakistan Super League 2022, the online gaming platform has teamed up with Lahore Qalandar.

With the arrival of the World Cup, PUBGM welcomed the world famous Argentinian player Lionel Messi, who took home the coveted FIFA World Cup 2022 trophy as their honorary Polo World Cup captain to march towards the World Polo World Cup.

The collaboration featured a unique collection of in-game apparel and other items available for PUBGM soccer fans to show off their sporting prowess on the battlefield. While the World Cup was in full swing on the ground, PUBGM players were dominating the Global Polo World Cup with Messi.

PUBGM has not only set fire to the eSports scene in Pakistan, but has also helped improve the physical sports scene in Pakistan. Over the past few years, PUBGM has organized several championships to promote and train the talented youth of Pakistan to participate in eSports. The country ranks 29th out of 150 in terms of eSports earnings, with 278 local players earning a combined total of PKR 1.1 billion. It is believed that mobile games are expected to generate PKR 38.9 billion if proper support is provided.

PUBGM recently held a unique eSports event, PUBG MOBILE Campus Challenge (PMCC), which brought together thousands of students from across the country to compete for PKR 4 million in a Grand Prize.

A PUBG MOBILE National Championship (PMNC) 2022 was held on the platform, where 16 teams competed for a total prize of PKR 6.8 million and qualified for the PUBG MOBILE Pro League (PMPL) Spring 2023.

This shows, in fact, that when technology and sport come together, a multifaceted sports universe emerges that caters to both people who have a digital and physical affinity for sport, making sport an enjoyable and accessible experience for a wide range of people.
