Online extension Extras parenting lesson. Visit the MSU Extension on Tuesday, September 27 at 8:00-9:30 p.m. to visit the Resilience Toolbox. By stocking your resilience toolbox, parents and guardians can help children deal with the stressors in their lives and provide them with the skills, tools, and know-how to deal with whatever life throws at them. In this free online course, learn about resilience and its importance, understand how stress affects children, learn protective factors to support resilience, and identify specific strategies to build resilience in children. The course offers parents of young children guidance on how to master the challenges, joys and sorrows of parenthood. Certificates of attendance will be issued upon completion of the course. Participants have the opportunity to participate and actively participate via a computer or an app on a tablet or smartphone. Sprouts & STEMs: Sustainable Garden Art. The Sprouts & STEMs program is a collaboration between Creative 360, the Midland Section of the American Chemical Society, and the Midland County Youth Action Council. The accessible and inclusive educational garden at Creative 360’s Bayliss site is the perfect place to learn about art, environmental stewardship and science. Adorable Pinecone Owls featuring Carol Speltz. Today’s mother. This four-week, interactive online course aims to improve the diet and exercise habits of expectant mothers before, during and after pregnancy. There is no cost to participants and topics covered include: relief from normal pregnancy discomforts, baby development, healthy nutrition for mother and child, reading food labels, menu planning, staying active during and after pregnancy.
