Stephanie “Pyet” Despain from Kansas City, Kansas, walked away with the $250,000 grand prize, a year of mentoring from all three chef mentors and his first season title Next level chef. Originally a member of Team Nyesha, Pyet won over the mentors with her menu of pork and sweet potato empanadas, grilled striped bass with seasoned sweet potato mash, and roasted lamb with potatoes, prosciutto-wrapped green beans, and red wine reduction!
Pyet was defeated Mariah Scott from Santa Clara, California and Reuel Vincennest from Trinidad & Tobago. All three chefs were given 90 minutes to prepare three exhibition courses: an appetizer from the basement kitchen, a fish dish from the middle level and a meat dish from the upper kitchen.
