Kanye West insisted that “male voices matter” as he opened up about co-parenting with Kim Kardashian in a new interview with Good Morning America.

The rapper said of Kardashian, who filed for divorce from him in February 2021, “This is the mother of my children and I apologize for any stress I have caused, even in my frustration, because God is calling me to be stronger .

“I need that person who is less stressed and sane and as calm as possible to be able to raise these kids.”

The two share children North (9), Saint (6), Chicago (4) and Psalm (3).

He insisted on being a parent, “I have a voice, but I had to fight for it,” and has spoken of wanting his children to attend Donda Academy; a school in California he founded as a tribute to his late mother.

Elsewhere in the candid interview, Ye spoke about his collaborations with The Gap and Adidas. He recently announced that he was parting ways with Gap, while also feuding with Adidas over creative control over the recent launch of the Yeezy Day.

“It was all sort of a disregard for the voice of something I helped create. I helped design the product at Adidas. I helped design the product at Gap,” he said.
