The love affair with Bridgeton is getting stronger! After Season 3 was greenlit last year, a spinoff of the popular Netflix series was proclaimed Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton StoryShe also got the green light. Netflix released a very early teaser on September 24th during the TUDUM event showing the most adorable royal meet cutie.

Netflix also shared a first look photo of India Amarteifi as a younger version of Queen Charlotte, played by Golda Rosheuval in Bridgeton. “The baton is passed, which I think is a very nice metaphor for old and young. It’s really awesome. I love it,” Golda said. Adjoa applauded India, saying, “India made it all their own and rode with it. When I look at India I see Golda and I see young Charlotte getting older and that’s a beautiful thing.”
Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story will be a limited series and will focus on one of the most popular characters from the original series, which is a huge hit for Netflix. Fans are finally getting the backstory of Queen Charlotte, the no-nonsense monarch who’s side-eyed and sniffling piqued curiosity. She is also based on a real-life character who is widely believed to be Britain’s first multiracial king. What will the series be about?
The split off Bridgeton Universum will focus on a young Queen Charlotte. The Netflix show’s official description reads, “This Bridgerton-verse prequel focuses on Queen Charlotte’s rise to prominence and power, inherited by the characters in Bridgerton.” The spin-off will, too tell the tales of young Violet Bridgerton and Lady Danbury.”

The streaming giant’s head of global television, Bela Bajaria spoke with meeting and said fans won’t be disappointed with what Shonda has in store for the new series. “Many viewers were unfamiliar with Queen Charlotte’s story before Bridgerton brought her into the world, and I’m thrilled that this new series will continue to expand on her story and the world of Bridgerton,” he said. “Shonda and her team are carefully evolving the Bridgerton universe so they can continue to bring fans the same quality and style they love. And as we now plan and prepare for all upcoming seasons, we also hope to maintain a pace that will leave even the most voracious viewers completely satisfied.”
Who is in the cast for the Queen Charlotte Series?

Or, of course, the original Queen Charlotte, played by Golda Rosheuval, will star in the series. However, the focus will be on the younger version of Los Blancos, played by India Amarteifi.
Also appearing in the original series are the characters of Violet Bridgerton and Lady Danbury, played by Adjoa Andoh and Ruth Gemell respectively. Now the younger versions are being played through for the spinoff Arsema Thomas and Connie Jenkins-Grieg respectively.
Other casting options include Katie Brayben as Vivian Ledger, Keir Charles as Lord Ledger, Sam Clemmett than the elder Brimsley, Hugh Sachs as younger Brimsley, Richard Cunningham as Lord Bute, Michelle Fairley as Princess Augusta, Corey Mylchreest as King George and Cyril No as Lord Danbury.
When will Queen Charlotte Air?
There is no fixed date for the premiere of Queen Charlotte. Netflix’s Tudum fan event on September 24 may shed some light. If we theorize Season 3 of Bridgeton will arrive in mid-2023, We may be able to anticipate the fork sooner. We also know that filming has already been completed Queen Charlotte! Earlier this month, the director of the prequel series Tom Verica took to his Twitter Announcing the main photography of the series is in preparation. Alongside a picture that read, “Queen Charlotte,” Tom wrote: “This is a wrap. This production, this cast, this crew… just wait.”

Yes, the first teaser fell during the TUDUM fan event on September 24th. In the footage, Charlotte tries to climb the garden wall but has trouble. Suddenly a dashing young man asks her what she’s doing. Charlotte wants to flee the castle because she has a bad feeling about the king she is about to marry.
The man refuses to help her. When she asks why, he replies, “I refuse when this damsel in distress tries to walk over a wall so she doesn’t have to marry me.” Plot twist! That man is George, the King of England himself!
What to see while you wait
There is enough time to catch up on everything Bridgeton before the spinoff hits the small screen! Watch the first two seasons of the popular series on Netflix, then get ready to read as Shonda and the author of the book series Julia Quinn are working on a prequel series of books about young Queen Charlotte, telling the story of how the King met and married King George, per diversity.
“Writing Queen Charlotte has been such a moving character and to now have the opportunity to work with Julia to turn this story into a book is such an exciting opportunity,” Shonda said in a statement. “I can’t wait for fans of this universe to read the story of a character that has resonated so deeply with our audience.”
