Another Fight for a Fireworks View Leads to Flying Cell Phones and Sexual Assault Accusations at the Magic Kingdom

What drives Disney tourists crazy are often the realities of theme parks, such as crowds and long waits.

But in an instant, those situations can escalate, like a recent incident where someone started yelling “pedophile!” and “raped me!” during a dispute over a place to watch the fireworks.

The sheriff’s report documenting the Sept. 21 incident at the Magic Kingdom is partially drafted, so it’s a little tricky to discern exactly what happened and who did what.

What we do know is that a boy and his mother were in the Hub near Cinderella’s Castle to watch the fireworks at around 8:35 pm that evening. When they found a place to stay, her mother said “she was told by a woman sitting behind her that she was not allowed to be there,” according to the sheriff’s report. The situation has become tense.

The mother refused to move, and it was then that a man from the other side confronted them, yelling at the boy. The boy started recording the man on his cell phone, then the man grabbed the boy’s arm and dropped the device from his hands, according to the sheriff’s report.

The sheriff’s office interviewed the man, Daniel, accused of knocking on the phone.

Daniel said he and his wife, Alyson, said they had been waiting for the fireworks with their family for 90 minutes when the mother and son spontaneously appeared in their area. Daniel and Alyson informed the mother and son that the place had already been taken.

Daniel accused the woman and her son of being “angry” and said the boy “pushed a cell phone very close to her face,” the sheriff’s report said.

Daniel “said he responded by pushing the boy’s hand out of his face, which caused the cell phone to drop to the floor,” according to the report.

The report is drafted, but it seems to indicate that the mother and child have started screaming loudly “pedophile!” and “she raped me!” to Daniel in the crowd.

Soon after, a deputy arrived and everyone was taken to the Disney security office.
The boy was not injured and refused medical treatment in Reedy Creek.

The boy’s mother refused to file a complaint against Daniel.

The identities of the boy and his mother are censored in the report. The boy is described as “juvenile”, but his age is not indicated in the report.
